Visiting Grandma

‘Visiting Grandma’ came first in the Poetry category for the 2017 BWC Saviker Shield competition.
The SAVIKER SHIELD comprises of 3 categories: A Story between 1600-2000 words; A Memoir – 500-800 words; A Poem: Max 36 lines. Points are awarded to each entry and entrant with the most points is declared winner of the Shield. All written under a nom-de-plume not used before in a BWC competition. The winners of each category read out their work at the Christmas meeting.
‘Visiting Grandma’ is a memory of the journey taken with her parents by train, from Wimborne in Dorset to Worpleston in Surrey to visit her grandparents.
